Re: Refurbishing my AC: what to replace ?
Blow it out with compressed air or nitrogen. Replace evaporator, dryer, all o-rings, make sure to vac that sucker with a vacuum pump for at least a half hour once you establish a good vacuum. Also be prepared to replace the oil charge since you're replacing the compressor. The condenser usually on t...

Re: question on reusing bolts as part of rear caliper rebuild
Can’t be a lot of torkx on 7mm, that’s the size I snapped off inside the cam holder. I've found anything critical I replace hardware on now. Why? Like you, I snapped off a bolt on a cam cover/cam bearing on a Ninja 650 and spent several months trying ever more creative (dangerous) ways of removing ...

Re: Water pump brands for 850 base.
If the belt isn't too bad, you may be able to turn it over until you can see the part number on it. That said, if it's been on there some time, it may not be able to be read.

Re: Vacuum leak?
When we say "new" throttle body, does that indicate it has been tested and proven to be good after install via VIDA? The reason I ask is there is many parts over the last couple of years that haven't always worked the first time around. I think some of this we can blame on supply lines dry...

Re: 96 Volvo 850 Engine rattle - Thoughts to cause?
I'm guessing the pump was done, but with whatever the local big box store had for cheap. I always replace the pump when doing timing belts. It just seems like too cheap a step not to do compared to the unlikely damage and cost to fix it if you didn't. I always use Volvo or Aisin for the pumps. I bel...

Re: The great P80 Volvo Bloopers - Idiots - Fails thread - June 2023
I know a guy who forgot to chock his wheels, jacked a '99 V70 XC AWD 2.4T with plate CWG-#### up and didn't put jack stands under. Car fell on jack. Owner was irritated. Owner of jack likely was as well but was kind about it. Jack got bent =( Moral of the story, always chock wheels or gravity will e...
