Re: DIY: 98 V70 Engine Oil Change (& ATF Change): the Easy W
My 1998 V70 Service Reminder in the dash requires a special tool to shut if off, so I placed a small piece of black electrical tape over it 10 years ago and have not missed this stupid light at all. I know this is an old thread and this comment is a mite off topic, but I assume your '98 V70 has the...

Re: Installing Vida 2014B on Windows 7 Ultimate not compatible with IE 11 but compatible with Firefox
I had the same problem with 2014d. You can create a shortcut of Firefox and add the localhost/Vida string to the start in line. So far it works.

Re: 98 V70 XC Clunk During Start and Stop + Grinding Noise
Check the prop-shaft carrier bearing in the middle of the prop-shaft as it is where you mention. The rubber doughnut it sits in fails with age. Also check the front bearing by the angle gear output. Heat from the cat helps it fail. At the back check the bush on the VC unit has not failed as it clunk...

Re: Rear springs - build/option plate lookup - '99 V70 XC AWD 2.4T
If you have an AWD (especially and XC) I would be really surprised if you don't have Nivomats at the rear. They look like regular shocks with a rubber boot at the bottom and fatter than a normal shock. 2000 V70 NA 5 speed auto VIN# ID 004.JPG The lowest string of 8 numbers/letters on the RHS of the ...

DIY: ECC Cabin Temperature Sensor 3524841 Removal/Replacement/Cleaning
There's probably a DIY floating around somewhere for this, but I had my camera handy and I figured it would be easy enough to write something up and hopefully help someone out who needs to clean or replace their ECC temp sensor. And another DIY writeup can only be a good thing, right? I've had a cod...

Re: OE v's Aftermarket - Yet another thread!
I don't really think it's a question of liars or otherwise. The people working at these companies are like you and me and are involved with the daily operations of the business they work for. Very few of them go home to troll the internet and find ways to save money on parts and find the hidden secr...

Re: '98 S70 digital speedometer and mpg reading
I am curious. What do you mean by digital speedometer? Is it one of the 6 (?) settings on the LCD readout? If this is the case, there are 6 settings it displays according to my Canadian Volvo handbook: 1) Furthest Counter clockwise (CCW) - Average speed. This displays the average vehicle speed since...

Re: Server off by an hour?
Hi Wize, go to User Control Panel -> Board Preferences (or just click this) and you can set your timezone.
There are global ways for me to push changes out, but I won't do them because Daylight Savings Time is a very region-oriented thing across the globe.

Re: How to upload text file with pictures?
Jim, the options suggested here will work but IMHO they are more trouble than they are worth. Plus, one of the aims of MVS is to have all content within the site as much as possible, so that when third party providers go away or abruptly change their mind (can you say "Photobucket?"), the ...
