Re: DIY: 2004 V70 2.5T Axle and Seal (110K miles)

In can confirm, the outer joint has an internal c clip as shown by CN90 above. I tried this again on my other car. But in addition to pulling with the tool I also hit the internal housing with a punch and after a couple of hits it came loose.

Re: Check your Banjo PCV bolt

Did check the banjo bolt on our V70 today, pcv was serviced by the dealer with previous owner.
Used a mirror, a bright light and my phone to make a picture of the mirror, so that I could zoom in.
Luckily it is the later style marked with 2014.

Re: C30 transmission drain & fill ?!?

Remove the torx screw from the cable clip. Than you can remove the wire harness and carefully remove the dipstick. You have to bend it slightly. Best to do this from below with the car on ramps.
Fyi you need to reset the fluid counter with Vida or other scan tools after drain and fill.

Re: 2006 XC70 rear diff leaking

While waiting on parts I disassembled the rear differential. To my surprise the bearings and gears were in excellent shape. Also the AOC oil was clean. Unsure where the source of the the noise was. After disassembly I learned that the differential has a pinhole vent on the back. The AOC has the vent...

Re: Rear trailing arm bushing XC70 2004 questions

Doing the same bushing replacement on our 2006 XC70. I ended up modifying galvanized end caps. Al you need for tools is a 1/2” drill, drill and grinder with a flex disc. All parts can be purchased at Home Depot. See the pictures for the parts I purchased (FYI threaded rod I used was 6/17 thread, 1/2...

Since I have removed the rear differential and all the suspension components I wanted to replace some of the rear suspension bushings while I have everything apart. The main reason for pulling the rear sub frame was for the upper control arm bushings (number 12). They were in worse shape than the tr...

Re: How is the handling affected by a bad Trailing Arm Bushing?

I replaced the trailing arm bushings and the upper control arm bushings on the rear of my P2 xc70 after having replaced all shocks and struts and front control arms. I was too having a loose rear end feel when cornering. The upper control arm bushings were more worn then the trailing arm bushings. B...
