Re: Vida 2014D Times out 12/31/2017 23:59
Some time ago I downloaded a complete VM image of Microsoft Windows 7 with VIDA 2014 all setup. I run this VM image in VirtualBox straight from Debian 10 on a small dedicated Dell laptop which I store with my DICE unit. My method of startup is typically: Laptop is up and running Debian. Start Virtau...

Re: Arduino Volvo Display Thread
Just found and read all this thread and am inspired. Like you Vitaly, I do hardware and software development, from small Arduino style boards, including DUE and SAMD through to GNU/Linux programming. Now, this is a neat project and one that I would love to have in my XC70, and as you mention, it's a...

Re: Noob....Vida Dice Q
Hi Scott, As far as I recall, yes, you can. I have a small dedicated Dell laptop to run the VIDA software for my 2005 XC70 and have had transmission problems a little while ago (as I touch wood) and so have done a bit of tinkering in that department with the VIDA-Dice setup. Yes, they sure are a lov...

Re: Cooling Fan running high all the time
I had this with my 2005 XC70 a few months back. I could control the fan via VIDA, no problem at all. Then, after a short while of appearing to work well, it would revert back to high speed all the time. At the time, the air conditioning system did not work, and VIDA showed a problem with the sensor ...

Re: 05 XC70 S4 and S5 shift solenoid no voltage
What you could do is to measure at the connector into the transmission with a voltmeter at points for solenoids for 4th and 5th and then use VIDA to actuate each in turn. This way you use the system to send the correct signal to the solenoid and you end up testing the electrical path from TCM throug...

Von Baron's second 2005 XC70
Note : Due to a server update issue, this post from March 25 went to the bit bucket. But fortunately I kept a copy of text and still had an open tab in FireFox with this post as it was late evening March 25th. I have included the two replies made as of late yesterday before the server was reverted ...

Re: 2005 XC70 Transmission Bugs
Update March 25, 2019: Well, actually, update 26 of March after server update went AWOL, always keep a copy of posts in case things go wrong :) After doing the last drain and fill, that is, number two drain and fill, the car firstly improved for some km and then had a few bad issues again, and then ...

Re: Planned maintenance downtime happening now UPDATED PLEASE READ
Hi Matthew, MVS is a great location of expertise and resources to come to, and I want to say I really appreciate your efforts in what it takes to keep a busy server up and running. With the new update I noticed a high rate of server timeouts and other things, which can become frustrating for sure an...

Re: 2005 XC70 Transmission Bugs
Well, after a drive back into the city today I am happy to say there appears to be a big improvement in the way the transmission is working. I went through quite a bit of start stop traffic and up and down multistory car parks and other places I needed to go today. There were only a few slight probl...
