Re: 2007 XC90 3.2l torture device

So, you’re saying there’s a chance….that a fix is near. 🙂 Wide Open Throttle My first thinking is that the Italian tune up cleared something. Then the mechanic thinking, thought how needing to push the engine at wide open throttle puts the ECU in a fixed program table and ignores the O2 sensors. If ...

Re: Having to shift to Neutral When Stopped in Drive

The 3.2 does not have an idle control valve (ICV, IACV, ISC)) and the ECU controls the idle via the throttle body. If you ever read the live throttle body opening, it will vary during idle to maintain ~ 650-800 normally, depending on engine temp, ambient temp, A/C, etc. The #11 item in the picture m...

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2l torture device

You just smoked tested, so this might not apply. Since most of the country recently experienced the Arctic cold, the first thing I would suggest is double-checking the intake clamps and hoses for any looseness. Also, double-check the bolts to the PCV. They can come loose. If you had VIDA or a better...

Have you checked the tire pressure? Read the tire as it’s higher than the regular tires. Especially when it gets colder, the tire pressure will drop and the spare will move.

Good luck

Re: Misfire - 2005 XC90 V8

Sounds like a LOT of V8 issues. Wow 😮. Good luck with it. Hi, fighting similair type of problem on cilinder 2. Bought car wit not running cil 2 and 5 with 400.000km. for me i did all new plugs, changed order or coils, replaced 2 coils and this helped for a while but problems of misfire at idle reocc...

This is a good video from a couple years ago to help show the process.

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2l torture device

Sounds great!! Good diagnosis and some simple things after using good parts. Something to consider. If your XC90 doesn’t have 336mm front calipers that came with the 7-seater option, and/or has any history of not changing the brake fluid for years, it might be a good time to replace the front calipe...

Re: 2007 Volvo XC 90 Clunking Front Drivers Side

Is it a rotational clunk, occurs when you start from a stop, or over bumps. Some things to consider: Lower Control Arm rearward bushing if it happens going over a bump, when turning, or when braking Sway bar end link if going over a bump on either side Rotational could mean the CV If starting from a...

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2l torture device

That is actually one spot that people don't think about and think it should only be replaced if it leaks oil. The oil cap gasket is really cheap and doesn't hurt to change it, whether it's for proper vacuum or to avoid oil leakage in the future. I changed mine about 40k miles ago. This is a common a...
