Re: '98 vs 2000 s70
Decided to not pursue the 2000 S70. Found a '98 S70 that I will check out for purchase this weekend. I just seem more comfortable with a '98 since I've owned one the past 4 years, and have done just about all maintenance/upgrades.

'98 vs 2000 s70
Found a 2000 S70 with only 80,000 miles, priced below market value for a quick sale. I have owned a '98 S70 for the past 4 years, and have had few problems with thanks to this site. Or the problems were easily fixed! I just don't know if I should purchase the 2000 S70 because I've heard they have mo...

Re: S70 PO442 Code
I have had the PO442 code for the longest time. I was finally able to clear the code when I had my catalytic converter welded shut. The exhaust system can throw this code.....makes sense too. The rear hanger had rusted off, causing stress on the exhaust pipe at the back edge of the catalytic convert...

Re: 1998 S70: Throbbing transmission in stall, low gas mileage
Your vibrations probably have more to do with worn engine mounts. Replace with original volvo mounts if you want to quiet the vibrations. Upper engine mount, lower engine mount, and sub-frame mounts if they are original.. Replacing the upper engine mount with the poly mount will give you vibration n...

Re: Spring Replacement
IPD sport springs on the way......still can't find any good write-ups with pics for replacing the rear springs. I've done the fronts before, so no ploblem. Does the tire have to come off to do rear spring replacements? Is is just one bolt under the spring that has to come off? Please chime in if you...

Spring Replacement
Thinking of replacing my stock springs with IPD's sport springs. I want a sportier feel, and a lower center of gravity. I replaced struts/shocks with Koni sports last winter, but kept the original springs. I know how to replace the front springs, but have not found a write-up on replacing the rear s...

Re: Key wont turn in the ignition past I...need help ASAP
Sorry to say, but it may be time for a new ignition lock cylinder. I replaced mine last year, but the only place to get a new one is at the stealership. Expect to pay $300 for the part, and another $300 for labor. I decided to replace it myself and saved the labor. If this is the case, research how ...

I can't seem to get the plastic cap off the evap line so I can drop in a can of r134a into my AC system. Any suggestions? Does it screw off?

Re: Replacement Struts S70
I replaced my struts and shocks last fall with Koni yellows. They offer a sporty ride, but are surprisingly smooth on bumps. They cost more than most others, but offer a lifetime guarantee. I kept the original springs. I had original shocks/struts, and wow, what a difference. Plus, they are adjustab...
