2001 S80, 288,886 miles...I am having the same problem. It happens more in the winter when the heater is needed, but still does it during the summer when the A/C is required. Yes, these plastic tabs break off very easily. I currently have one secured with the foam ear plugs and a rubber band. The other was beyond repair and is hanging. I really need to find a way to get that back inside again.

I have the same problem with a 2001 S80. 288,886 miles on it. I have the A/C blower turned all the way on, and only switch the A/C on when it blows. If it stops blowing, then I turn the A/C button off (as a precaution). I noticed that it will blow more in the summer months using the A/C than in the ...

2001 S80 Side Marker Light

As the manual says - open the door half way and push it out. Just be very careful, and try to pinch the plastic prongs in prior to pushing this out. As any plastic ages, it gets brittle. I forgot this little part when pushing mine out and snapped off one of the holders.
