Thank you MVS - fixed my mirror with ease!

Last week I posted a question looking for help replacing my wife's side mirror she "broke". With the help from this site it took all of 20 mins to remove the door panel, unbolt the mirror housing, replace the mirror glass and put it back together. Had I tried this on my own, I would for su...

Re: Driver's side rear view mirror replacement

So I got a used mirror assembly and the previous post with the door trim pics is great. The new (used) mirror does not have the glass. Any ideas on how to get the old glass mirror off to install on my new mirror assembly?? (I'm talking about just the "mirror glass" and not how to unbolt th...

Re: Upcoming Fuel Pump recall

My 2002 S80 had a bad gas fuel smell from the rear passenger side. Took it in for that and some other work. Was covered under the "recall" at no charge. It has something to do with the fuel pump. This was about 3-4 months ago.

Driver's side rear view mirror replacement

So after 10 yrs in the same house my wife hit the side mirror on the garage and cracked the outer housing pretty bad. The mirror still works and isn't hanging off the car. It's more superficial damage but the broken end is rather sharp and easy to bang into with an elbow or something. So..... 1). Ho...

'05-'07 V70R (6 speed or auto)???

I'm interested in getting an '05-'07 V70R. Haven't driven one yet but own an '02 S80. Any opinions on getting a manual vs. auto? I'm leaning towards a manual but know the auto mates better with the turbo engine. I also have a Miata and am totally spoiled by the 5 speed tranny in it. Anything else sh...

Re: 2002 S80 front suspension repair dilemma (105k miles)

I've decided to have the local shop replace the struts along with the spring seats. Peace of mind and hopefully no more clunking noises.

2002 S80 front suspension repair dilemma (105k miles)

Ok, Got some bad clunking sounds from the front right. I know the spring seat is broken and needs to be replaced. The front struts themselves seem fine. Spring seats only at the dealer = $720 total for both Spring seats at local shop = $556.00 total for both Spring seats + new struts from local shop...

Front CV joints?

Have an odd vibration while accelerating moderately while rolling. Feels like a wheel out of balance but stops when you lift off the gas. Read somewhere the CV joints can cause this. What's the life expectancy on these for a 2002 non-turbo? I've got 104k on mine. Do these have a typical mileage they...

2002 S80 shock longevity??

How long do the shocks really last under normal (non-sporty) driving? I've got a non-turbo with about 104k on it. I know on some cars they last forever and on some they crap out pretty quick. Not real sure what the Volvo's are good for. Mine seem fine right now but I have to pull them out to fix a b...

S80 2.9 - tire pressures

So does anyone actually run their tires at the Volvo recommended pressure of 39psi F/R? I usually keep mine around 34-35psi. Any big fuel economy advantages? I find the 39psi rides pretty hard.
