Re: 2003 s60 2.3t hesitates

How many miles? Have you changed your fuel filter? Any codes? Possibly a bad O2 sensor? or MAF/Booster sensor?

Or could it be crud in your fuel lines. I'm a fan of a can of seafoam in my gas tank to clean out the gunk. I find that helps. Google Seafoam in the gas tank.

Re: Looking for a good Volvo mechanic in RI

I went to Pierce Imports in Wakefield RI. Fair prices & good work. It takes a week to get an appointment though.

Re: Replacing ambient temp sensor

What year? What model? I have a pretty good write up for a 2001 S40.

Re: S40 Transmission Question

I have a 2001 S40, 160K. I used a can of Seafoam in the gas tank recently and it really cleared up any hesitations I would have early in the morning (warm or cold) shifting from 1st to 2nd. All transmission shifts are much smoother now.

Re: Grrr.. S40 Blower Motor Resistor

No, I gave up trying to figure out the source of the intermittent blowing and clicking. If you replace the motor (or figure out what is causing this behavior) please let me know. Good luck!

Re: S40 Temp Dial Question/Problem

Yes, if you follow the PDF directions above the damper motor should calibrate correctly when you turn the key to the correct position. I also describe the procedure here https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =8&t=34858

Good Luck

Re: Antennae replacement

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. There is a another part that has to come out. If you notice in the new antennae kit, there is the antennae and a small metal sleeve. There is a metal sleeve inside the antennae mast. You have to remove that piece in order for the new antennae to fully retract....

Re: My S40 will not start

One day my car wouldn't start after driving just fine. Turns out I had a stowaway family of mice living above my gas tank and they finally chewed through enough wires to short out something. This was strange though because I drove the car 10 miles to work every day. Anyway, over the past 10 years I'...

Manually Resetting the Damper Motor

My damper motor stopped responding to changes in the temperature dial, leaving me with a car that was either 100% on full heat or 100% on cold. Eventually I disconnected the damper motor arm so that I could just change the damper myself manually. This was a pain though, since I'd have to remove the ...

Re: Radiator Fan not Switching On!!

I had a similar problem with a S40. They replaced all three relays but it did not solve the problem. I had already replaced the thermostat and those usual suspects. My problem was the resistor that controlled the radiator fans. My radiator fan would not come on at the low speed. Then the car would b...
