Re: 850 Sedan Roof trim

This may be the cleanest & cheapest solution. I used 2 layers of duct tape starting along the rubber gasket edges and masked the painted roof on both sides of the drip rails about 4 inches wide. Then I cut away the peeling finish using an aluminum straight edge (yardstick) and a razor knife care...

Re: Rear Window brake light cover 1995 940

My best suggestion for internet search would be to try and find someone who is "parting out" your particular model car. Good Luck.

Re: Front suspension swaying Volvo 850

Hey thanks makes sense as it did clunk this evening over a speed hump. I suppose making the front suspension so tight made the rear end jealous. 8)

How about your CV axles? I am narrowing in on that as my problem as I just finished replacing all my front suspension components. Worth getting them checked perhaps.

Re: Fixing 850 / S70 rattling dashboard.

Sounds like a great / cost effective fix to a problem I been wrestling with myself. Did you try removing the dashboard cover to see if that would give you a better view of the wiring harness? If I remember correctly its not too difficult as you pop out the vents and remove retaining screws above ins...

Re: camshaft position sensor

Hey - Mine did the same thing on my 1994 850 Turbo. I used an eyeglass screw driver to gently pry & pull apart the cracked connector. I used electric contact cleaner on both plug end and pin end then dielectric grease. I pushed them back together and tested before I used shrink wrap tape and als...

Re: Rear Window brake light cover 1995 940

EBay certainly is a good resource and a plastic trim piece like you are describing is a pretty safe bet for online purchase. I like my local salvage yard which charges a $2.00 entry fee to keep out the riff - raff and has a published price list. A good salvage yard will have a "Foreign Car Sect...

Front suspension swaying Volvo 850

My 1994 850 Turbo is swaying side to side at highway speeds. I just finished installing new struts -control arms-sway bar links - tie rod ends. I also had the rack & pinion system reconditioned by a specialty shop. I also had 4 brand new tires put on today at Pep Boys and also had a complete whe...
