And I thought my mileage was bad! 17 city, 22-24 highway in my '98; 19 city, 25 highway in the '97.

My '98 is running somewhat rich, I can smell it in my exhaust. You are definitely not getting the mileage you should! Time for a "Stage 0" tune-up!

Only special tool is a suggested one: the cam lock tool. It's fairly inexpensive through IPD but worth its weight in gold for peace of mind!

Did both of mine without use of the air compressor.

I removed the service light on my '98 S70 and my check engine lights still works. Maybe you had a one-time code that cleared out. Does the check engine light come on when you turn the key to the on position?

Did you fix your problem? I have the exact same symptoms 90 miles south of you, fan running and everything. Guess I'll be changing out the thermostat and coolant sensor!

Lee, that's what I was afraid of. I have a passenger side rear lock/actuator. Do you know if it's interchangeable with the passenger front? Kind of hoping it's a direct fit, or at least that I'll be able to disassemble the two and interchange the broken part.
