Re: Volvo XC90 - Why you love yours!

My wife had an '06 V70R GT. It got stolen and totalled in a police chase. RIP. The replacement vehicle is an '06 xc90 v8. She loves it. You don't know what a large turning radius is until you drive a VR! She loves the tighter turning circle, the immediacy of the throttle response (as opposed to wait...

Re: 1994 850 Turbo Randomly Shutting Off

When you try to restart is everything lighting up and the starter spinning? Or is it black; no lights in the dash?

Re: Volvo Term Glossary

I have found this glossary very useful. Thanks for creating it. Three terms to add though, FPM (fuel pump module), FPCM (fuel pump control module) and PEM (pump electronic module). Apparently, is the same thing but given a different name depending on the model.

Re: 2002 V70 Stalling on acceleration

I had this problem last week. I have a 2006 v70r. It was a cracked hose that went from the engine (right beside the oil cap) down to the oil can (Part Of The PCV system). It was hard plastic that had become brittle. In removing it, it broke into three or four pieces. interestingly, the replacement h...

Re: alternative to IPD wheel install guide pin?

Thank you for submitting this. I just ordered from IPD and chose not to get the guide because it seemed cheaper to make my own. Now I know what I need. I love this forum!

Re: Mystery intermittent stall, no error codes

It's been a while and I realized I never provided closure on this. It turned out that the pnp switch needed to be realigned. That's all! It was easy to do. The switch is just really sensitive to it's position on the transmission.

Re: Power seat not working

I don't have any solution to this poster's situation but recently my daughter's 1994 850 driver seat stopped working. I tried to get error codes through the engine module but nothing came up. Swapped switch panels (the controls to the side of the seat) with another 850. The swapped switches all work...

Re: pnp switch replacement

I had problems with my pnp switch. It kept me from driving my 850 t5 turbo for almost a year! Turns out I had two problems at the same time. The ignition switch contacts were worn out and the pnp switch was out of alignment. To test your pnp switch: 1. disconnect the connector by lifting up the meta...
