I have found this glossary very useful. Thanks for creating it. Three terms to add though, FPM (fuel pump module), FPCM (fuel pump control module) and PEM (pump electronic module). Apparently, is the same thing but given a different name depending on the model.

It's been a while and I realized I never provided closure on this. It turned out that the pnp switch needed to be realigned. That's all! It was easy to do. The switch is just really sensitive to it's position on the transmission.

I don't have any solution to this poster's situation but recently my daughter's 1994 850 driver seat stopped working. I tried to get error codes through the engine module but nothing came up.
