S60r Side mirror loose at hinge(not the glass/actual mirror)
Like the title says. I'm having a hard time finding info on a fix.. Most results have to do with the actual mirror itself being loose. Mine is loose at the hinge, where it pivots when you move the entire side mirror like when parked on a really narrow road, and basically just being held on by the wi...

97 850R - Car blew the 30A blower motor fuse badly
The 30A fuse(fuse #5 i believe) that controls fan speed 4 blew out badly. There is slight damage to the fuse box itself from the heat of the fuse blowing. Wondering if this would warrant a fuse box replacement or if this is one of those things that it can handle. Is the fuse box relatively easy/stra...

97 850R Cat is hanging, solutions?
I hit a small bump yesterday and my catalytic converter decided to disconnect from the rest of the exhaust(starting at the engine, it broke just after the cat). I really hope there is a way to fix this that I can do at home. Is there a clamp I can use or does it have to be welded?

Re: Real Time Engine Monitoring with Smartphone - Questions
I just got an ELM327 adapter(~12)and torque for android(4.95). It is pretty cool though I haven't had that much time to tinker with it. It pulls a lot of stats and information, but I'm not 100% on the accuracy of the reaedings. I have a boost gauge that gets different readings than the digital read ...

Re: new serp tensioner help
I know this isn't any help to your situation, but what kind of symptoms did you have before you decided to replace the tensioner? I'm getting a whining noise that increases with RPMs... a few months ago I noticed a light rattle from the serp tensioner, juts wondering if yours progressed in the same ...

Re: car stops while idling
I've had this happen on two different 850's for two different reasons. Since you took it to a mechanic with the symptoms i'm guessing they would have checked what I'm about to say but i'll leave it anyway. On my 5spd 850 it would stall any time I took it out of gear, but ran fine when in gear. This ...

Re: Leak at the oil cooler thermostat
I had a hell of a hard time putting that rectangle gasket in due to those notches that make it less than rectangular on the thermostat. I used some silicone gasket sealer to help hold it in place during re installation. I struggled hard putting it in correctly, but once the silicone gasket helped ho...

Re: No starter when engine is hot.
There is NO noise whatsoever? I know you emphasized that point, but I had a similar thing happen, except there was a noise(not the low battery clicking) from the starter. It was a problem with the solenoid, only happened when hot. Essentially you described my problem, only happened when hot, would w...

Re: Exhaust Leak -- 98 V70 232K NA, FWD, 5spd
Sounds like you have a break near the back of the engine. My car was described as sounding like a Ferrari, and I think the break was at the flex pipe or somewhere near it. This is the video I took when trying to find the source of the leak, you can see at one point towards the end there is a break. ...

Re: ABS/TRACS lights came on... then went off?
I'm going through the same thing right now, but mine had (allegedly) been replaced/rebuilt by the last owner just over a year ago. It has stayed on consistently except the other day when I did the 9-3 wobble check on my passenger side wheel(car seems to pull when I brake). It shut off when I restart...
