Re: Anyone have a higher mileage 2nd generation than this 20

My 2005 2.4i S40 has almost 120,000mi on it. So i'm less than half way there, but i've had to replace the suspension, A/C Compressor, and a few belts.

Re: New AC compressor yet no cold air

It turns out that the place that worked on my car originally put about 150% of the proper amount of refrigerant in my car. I had the excess taken out and now the problem is solved.

New AC compressor yet no cold air

Just about a month ago i had my ac compressor replaced because it started to go bad. It was just in time too because it was starting to get into the 90s here in Houston. Now that summer is in full swing, it's reaching temperatures inside my car that feel like 120 degrees. Unfortunately for me i cant ...

Re: 2008 S40 Cabin air filter (replacing)

I'm just going to guess that its the same as the 05 S40. You can find a link how to do that here

You can try just prying back the fabric to the right of the gas pedal to see if you can see the cabin air filter there. if you can, then be in store for a long replacement. if not, then you saved ...

Re: S40 - windows make creaking noises

i would like to know the answer to this as well. whenever i close my driver side window it makes a loud creaking noise until it is completely shut. I think i may have had it looked at when i first got my car and they tightened something inside the door that had come loose. But i cant remember if it ...

Re: S40 t5 - help with airconditioning problem needed

It would have saved you a little bit of time to read a few of the posts already on this forum. there was a lengthy one only a couple of threads down from this one, labeled " A/C starts off cold then blows warm ".

Hope this helps. The very last post on that thread has a link to another forum where ...

Re: '05 S40 cabin filter install (US version)

Well i know where it is on a 2001 s40. it's really quite simple to find.

On the 01, it's located directly under the glove compartment on the passenger side. There are two screws holding the cloth cover material on on the underside of the glove compartment. Remove those 2 screws and take the ...

Re: A/C starts off cold then blows warm

Yea, i ended up getting the A/C Compressor replaced for just under $1000. It was the clutch that was going, but if you just replace the clutch, the cost is only a little less than the whole A/C Compressor, so i had it all replaced... Works perfectly fine now

Re: '05 S40 cabin filter install (US version)

i'm with jim on this one. i thought that changing the oil on this car was over the top (because of where the filter is). But after changing the cabin air filter today, boy was i wrong. and you're right about it taking close to 90 min and being sore afterward.

i seriously hate the guy who made the ...
