Had this problem on 97 V70. Solved it by removing hazard switch (4-way flashers), cleaning contacts, replacing little wheat-ear bulb, and putting it all back. Works fine now, and dead easy to do. See Haynes!

Sounds like your blower motor is dying. Either that or there is some debris in the ducting. My 97 V70 had this and a 2nd-hand blower motor cured the problem.

I had this problem too. Found that a connector in the water tubing under the floor on the right hand side of the load bay had disconnected itself. Everytime the rear w/w was used the underfloor area got a generous soaking!

Make sure all your lamps are of the correct wattage. Mixing different wattage lamps can I believe cause the warning system to activate.

Update - the blower motor was at fault, but the resistor was fine. A search through the breakers got me a replacement motor, it was dead easy to replace.

One word of caution for anyone else doing this - the blower motor and resistor are not common to all 850 V/S/C 70 models, and parts are not ...

From experience don't bother with a multi-cd cartridge type cd changer if you have any alternative.

The mechanism is fiddly and slow - by the time you've got it to swap cd or track you've just about lost the will to live!

Could be a faulty ECU, a faulty fan motor, a faulty resistor (controls fan speed), a faulty sensor (see Haynes manual).

What happened just before the system failed? Any odd noises or smells?

We did the reverse swap on our S70. The three-disk cartridge multi-changer is a very complex mechanism, it kept jamming and ultimately wrecked a disc. We swapped it out for an SC-805 single-shot CD/tape/radio, sourced second hand from the dealer who had sold us the car.
