Re: Timing belt off centre/running off
I've now tried several things to fix this issue. I started to replace components one by one and when I put back the old tensioner pulley the belt stayed almost at the center. So the tensioner pulley had definitely something to do with it. I actually removed the old, worn out pulley from the old tens...

Re: Timing belt tensioner torque
This is odd because according to my 850 Haynes manual the timing belt tensioner pulley should be 40 nm. Maybe this is for the older style tensioner, pre-1994? The manual doesn't specify. https://i.imgur.com/XA7IqDyl.jpg I also found this somewhere in this forum: https://i.imgur.com/rsy03a3l.jpg This...

Timing belt tensioner torque
Hi, does anyone know the correct torque value for the timing belt tensioner torx bolt?

Haynes manual says it's 40nm, other people have claimed it's 25 nm, so what's the right answer?
Thanks

Timing belt off centre/running off
Yet another issue with my T5. Does anyone have a clue what can cause timing belt to run off centre? Replaced the timing belt and now it runs very close to the edge of the sprockets and it seems that the water pump pulley is the only thing that keeps it from running off. There's also a weird wobble i...

Re: Question about rotating the cold side of the turbo
Thanks for the info, I didn't know there was a pin. However, I didn't want to tear everything apart again so I just sliced about 0.5 mm off from the o-ring that goes into the hole in the block. That way the bolt holes lined up nicely. Problem solved, for now.

Question about rotating the cold side of the turbo
Hi Bought a new (remanufactured) Td04hl-13G turbo. Had no problems installing it. But when I started to install the oil return pipe, it turns out that the bolt holes of the pipe won't line up with the holes in CHRA. It seems that I need to rotate the cold side/CHRA just a couple of degrees for the h...

Oil weeping from a new Aisin hydraulic tensioner - 1996 850 T5
Hi guys, Could really use some advice. I'm currently in progress of replacing the timing belt on my 96' 850 turbo. When I started to install a new hydraulic tensioner I noticed that there's some oil around the small piston that pushes against the tensioner pulley. As far as I'm aware, it shouldn't b...
