Wow - I didn't know this, but apparently you can get some pretty good exercise dodging a bullet! :)

Thanks, MIJ. That's probably $1000 or more I don't have to spend. I owe you a adult beverage of your choice someday.

'95 850 GLT Airbags ... 10 yr Replacement? Cost?

OK, folks. I've still been digging into my "new-to-me" '95 850 GLT. The topic for today is airbags. My vehicle has the standard-for-the-year set of four (driver, passenger, and two side) bags. And according to the sticker on the driver's side B pillar...they are all due for replacement in ...

I have a lot of sympathy for you - I live in a condo community and there's a complete prohibition against car maintenance of any kind in the parking lots (I get in trouble about once a quarter because I check my fluids). My suggestion is to make friends with folks that own their own houses. Now, to ...

I've never had any wiper last longer than 6 months. I've tried Anco, Exact Fit, Bosch (both the Micro Edge and the new Icon) and Valeo. Yeah, over the years, I agree that this is true (6 months on a blade.) My personal rule has always been refills every six months, blades every year. That seems to ...

That's what I figured , but it's good to get validation.
Thanks!

95 850 GLT - Alternator/Battery light normal on shutdown?

I've been meaning to ask. On turning off my car, it's typical to see the battery light (okay, technically it's the "generator not charging" light) illuminate for about 1 to 2 seconds as the engine dies. There's no abnormal sounds from the engine compartment and no alternator/battery issues...

When I pulled "elbows" off, I never replaced them...I found that the silicone hoses did just as well...I just skipped the so called elbows. Hey MIJ - does this take care of the "mushy" elbows problem talked about on Volvospeed here ? I think I may have one suspect hose/elbow mys...

From the Fumoto website it appears that the nipple is a barbed hose connection suitable for hooking up a hose to to drain oil through. The adapter is apparently designed for oil pans with recessed plugs, so that the valve body doesn't hit the pan during the installation process. Why don't you take a...

Occasionally have jobs I need done on my older cars where I have either no choice but to get used parts or have an overseas source for very hard to find parts. Some of the tasks are hard for me to do since a lift would be needed (or it's 12 below zero) and I'd like to have a shop do the work for me...
