Re: Volvo People are the Best.
Many of the for profit private prisons, being corporations, are publicly traded as well. Tax monies into investors pockets. Great model isn't it? Recipe for crime not a solution to crime. As a society we have become awfully tolerant of public corruption. We say we don't like it. But it doesn't seem...

Nice pictures. More enjoyable to see pictures that are seen through someones eyes in comparison to travel magazines, or through media. So thank you. That's quite a distance to cover in 24 hours. The emissions stickers you had shown, are those done as an emission test or is it more of a toll that you...

Re: 99 S70 readiness monitors
Lucky Florida got over the stupidity so come on down and leave the frozen North's State income tax and vehicle registration nightmares. June Nice. I'm going to have to politely disagree with you. While vehicle safety and emmisions inspections may be inconvenient and aggravating, they do however ins...

Re: 2000 S70 won't start
The check valve is integral to the pump assembly. To my knowledge it isn't serviceable, ie: replacing the insert won't help. If you have another complete assembly that has a good check valve that would solve it, or you could install an external check valve behind the fuel filter. Borrowing a fuel pr...

Re: 2017 Owners Retrospective - What were your Volvo milestones in 2017?
I can relate. I ran my other car on Castrol Syntec for over a decade and ended up with varnish throughout the valve train.
I can vouch for Redline. They produce some excellent products, especially their manual transmission fluids.

Re: 2000 S70 - Transmission Issues after 7 miles
Hi there. Just wondering what you mean by automatic trans update kit checked? Did the prior owner or person servicing it, mention whether that was a software update or the aforementioned B4 servo cover replacement? Double check that info.Another step in the process would be to check the fluid level ...

Re: 2000 S70 won't start
Hello there. Welcome. You mentioned not hearing the fuel pump, mine is barely audible and may hum for a second or 2. Another possible issue might be that the check valve in your fuel pump isn't holding pressure and the fuel rapidly drains back. If you cycle your key around 5 or 6 times and it does s...

Re: 2000 S70 ECC intermittent delay in position 3, ignition switch failure
The mileage was 154k miles when the symptoms appeared. The contacts were tarnished and it did improve with cleaning, but I should have updated my post though. I pulled the ECC and found 2 capacitors on the board had leaked. I needed the air and defrost at the time, and couldn't find replacement caps...

Re: Lug Removal Using Torque Wrench
Problem with most 4 way lug wrenches are they are imperial sized not metric. Also the ones I have found are usually too thick to fit into the lug bolt recess on Volvo alloys, and if they do, the scrape them to hell. I recently had to swap the summer rims off my wife's SUV after it had been to the d...
