'02 2.9 - Rough Acceleration, Exhaust Noise, P0011 & P0016 codes
Hey, everyone! I've had a pretty rough issue come up on my 2002 S80 2.9 today. Was taking a usual drive, nothing out of the ordinary, and began experiencing loud exhaust-like noises upon acceleration. The acceleration became slow and unsteady. Some rumble and hum at idle. Also, a slight "jump&q...

XC90 V8 - Pros and cons?
I've had an S80 for as long as I could drive (which hasn't really been all that long), and I've come to have the weirdest connection with that car. As for now, I don't have any significant reason to part with her, and I hope it will be a long time until I need to. But, for future reference, I have p...

Re: If you got 7 emails for the newsletter...
Goodness. I don't even know how many got, because I don't care how many I got. In the end, I read one and deleted the rest. Whether it's human error or a glitch, I don't really care, either.
Thanks for including me, and thanks for all the hard in work keeping this site up and running!

Re: Is there a "Volvo wave"?
Hahaha, thanks everybody! It's true, there is a huge variety of owners. Unfortunately, I think a lot of Volvo owners here are just plain WEIRD. Like, really weird. I'm still chuckling here because of the op stating that some of the forum members are weird, and I was thinking of some of the response...

Well now, that would've been helpful, wouldnt it? It's the 2.9.Volvo S80 wrote:What type of engine does your S80 has on it?

'02 complaining at about 2.5K RPM
So, this has been an ongoing thing for about a year or so now. It goes like this: as I accelerate to around 2500 rpm (or around that time that the tranny shifts), my car makes this awful "errrrrr-tsh" sound (you don't really expect me to properly describe a sound, do you?) that lasts about...

Re: Volvo S80
Firstly, YES for S80 as a first car (same for me, a 2002)! Secondly, I always thought I had to pop the trunk with the fob button, but there's actually a little release button under the ledge above the license plate. Thirdly, yeah, the seat not moving is going to likely be an electrical/mechanical is...

Re: Is there a "Volvo wave"?
Cool, I like these answers! Since my last post, I've scored a "go ahead" at a 4-way stop (it was very, very clearly her turn) and I even got a wave today from a Volvo! Sounds lame, but I'm pretty simple, so it made my day. Especially since I was on my way to get a battery for my dying car....

Hahaha, thanks everybody! It's true, there is a huge variety of owners. Unfortunately, I think a lot of Volvo owners here are just plain WEIRD. Like, really weird. My boyfriend has an Impreza RS (non modded), and constantly gets waved at by other Subies. I wave at other Volvos... nothing. I even dro...
