Hi folks,
it's getting to be time for new tires for my '98 S70, so between one of my rims having an unfixable slow leak that I'm tired of dealing with, and wanting something with a little more modern-standard sized tires... I'd like to get new (to me) wheels.
I currently have 195/60R-15 Michelin ...

Affordable, stand alone(?) Code reader for 98 s70, NA automatic
Hi folks,
Is there such a thing as a *good* reliable scanner for a 98 S70 that's reasonably priced? Preferably either stand alone like an OBD-ii reader or a Bluetooth connection to smartphone (android preferred) +application?
I've used an OBDlink LX which has been reliable but not detailed.
I also ...

Lights for '98, NA S70, automatic.
I daily drive a '98 S70 My headlights are dim and difficult or impossible to aim (they currently point down and mostly illuminate the first 10' in front of my car), the turn-signals / side markers are held on mostly by the wiring harness and some old all-weather velcro. I've had the car for ~8 years ...

Re: Blinker failure
I have a similar problem with my drivers side tail-lights, initially caused by water in the lens. basically the Brake and Turn signals are shorted somehow and when it's acting up the Brakes interfere with the turn signal, I've drilled drainage holes in the lens, sealed the top/sides with silicone ...

Re: '98 S70 is at 95k miles - what do I need to save up to fix next?
When was the timing belt done last?
Timing belt was done about 18 months ago at ~78k, I bought the car about 4 years ago with 72 and a bit on the clock, I put 10k on just in October with a family situation out of state (md to ohio and back every weekend for 5-6 weeks). Pcv, MAF, fuel pump ...

'98 S70 is at 95k miles - what do I need to save up to fix next?
Hi folks, as the title says, my '98 S70 is currently at 95k, and currently running pretty well and I'd like to keep it that way.

Re: '98 S70, 93k miles, intermittent Rough running and stalling
Disconnect Maf connector, start the car and test drive it.If problem disappears...Maf is bad.
Other than that...could be a HUGE vacuum leak or FPR failure.
But,let's go one step at a time...cheapest things first!
*Ding Ding Ding* we have a winner.
Mechanic finally got to my car, MAF was ...

Re: '98 S70, 93k miles, intermittent Rough running and stalling
Pretty near all of these suggestions should throw codes.
I’d start with a “2nd opinion” from another OBDll reader.
Yes, I've never been super pleased with my Bluetooth scanner and have been leaning towards getting a better device, but I don't know where to start. Seems like 98's are in kind of ...

Re: '98 S70, 93k miles, intermittent Rough running and stalling
Since July the tires, battery, heater core, oil change and a tune up have been done. I'd have to look at my receipts to see if cap and rotor are part of my normal tuneup, but if not they're a max of 3 years old as I know I had them done when I had my timing belt done. Don't know the age of fuel pump ...
