Air distribution damper motor

Hello, I am getting flashing green light on ECC and CCM-222 air distribution damper motor signal too high in VIDA, This IS the motor I need to be looking at right? There looks like another motor a bit lower and more towards the outside of the car, but I don't really want to extract it unless I need ...

Actually, I just received a return code from Amazon. Looks like no new brakes for a while. It is ok though, this car is turning into a driveway project, needs the parking brake fixed, air distribution damper motor replaced and calibrated. It is for sale btw, I can see this thing just nickel and dimi...

Could be wrong but.... Topic is solved

Just me again. Decided to do the front brakes this am before it gets too hot. Everything came apart fine. The brakes and rotors are actually ok, with Volvo pads etc, but since everything had to come off the back to do the parking brakes I figured what the heck. New rotor is on but I am pretty sure t...

Hello, my C70 failed inspection because of a non working parking brake. I bought new shoes, well, and everything else. New rotors, pads and hardware. This is an for an ongoing PM with RHP and I, thought it would be easiest to post it here. Guide wheel is stuck, if i take the screw out it turns freely, a little looser than the others, but does not pull off the spindle. The cable retainer tab is intact, although bent a little more than the others.

I agree on not the cylinders themselves, but whenever there is a misfire code on a particular cylinder, the ecu is telling us it has a some kind of problem with that cylinder, whether spark, fuel or whatever. For what it's worth, P301 and 304 are cylinders 1 and 4 misfires. I'd check the plugs and wires to those cylinders, could also be the injectors on those cylinders. Just went through this with my Nissan Armada. But it was code p0300, random multiple misfires. Tracked it down to injectors, after coils...

A Volvo love story

This is a topic I saw on a forum today, truly awe inspiring! This guy loves his Volvo and it shows. Hope the mods don't mind a post from another forum, but this gives me hope for my own C70. The knowledge and attention to detail is astonishing! Hope someone enjoys this as much as I did! https://foru...

Yes, a V70 t5 would be sweet... I would love to do some performance mods on this, like a turbo back exhaust, 3" downpipe and tune. I just don't know how long it is going to hold together. I can do all the work, not sure about all the alignment and adjustments for the regulator though. Not happy with...

Had I known of these silly little issues with the 1st gen C70 cabrio, I never would have bought it at any price. I'm more of a Merc W124 and W126 owner, and Volvo has never made a car compared to these. After RedC70 is gone, I'll look for another 560SEC to make my current one happy!

Fixed it! It was the ECC. Picked one up from ebay, plugged it in and Voila! Left the old one in and no response early in the morning, plugged in the replacement and everything came right on. Checked it 2 days in a row with a similar morning temp and still works. So thanks to all who responded!

What in the world is this?

This is a '99 C70 LPT convertible. I have 2 of these plug looking thingies just kind of hanging there on each side of the front end? I have no idea what they plug in to. They have 2 electrical wires wrapped in corrugated insulation. Everything up front works like normal as far as the fogs, headlamp ...

Re: 1999 C70 CONV VIDA diagnosis (renamed)

Yes I used the whole system, Vida Dice 2014d I believe. There is also a step by step process to calibrate the top by taking measurements on all the parts involved by taking readings at the windows and top. I do believe that the dealer can only do that with a VST 2000. So, calibration might be a deal...

Re: Rain X Window Treatment

I've used it for years and used it extensively while stationed in England and Scotland. Amazing stuff! Not as good if driving slow but at say 50 mph and up you really don't need wipers. Rain just beads up and goes straight up the windshield. I use it on all my cars and all the windows. A hard frost ...

Re: vida dice

An update: Currently running Vida Dice 2014a from a Linux box using VMware running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit and IE 11. No problems other than finding win7 pro. I can confirm that Vida Dice does diagnose convertible top issues. I currently have 8 faults dealing with faulty signals etc. Cabs 120-121, 130,...

Re: vida dice

Thanks for the response cuhfs, I'll try the software and if no-go then oh well. If the dealer can re-calibrate if thats all it is then not to bad there either. Just not willing to spend $$$ on the top. Body is in great shape, interior is falling apart in pieces so not really worth the effort to spen...

Re: vida dice

Thanks Lee, Yeah I knew well enough it wouldn't work on my other cars, just needed a confirmation it would at least talk to the all the systems. I don't mind spending the money on the program as long as it works. Should be here Tuesday or Wednesday.
Once again many thanks---rob

1999 C70 CONV VIDA diagnosis (renamed)

Hello, I need some help from smarter guys than me, which isn't too difficult. Have a 99 c70 convertible with the usual top problems. Back window stopping in the upright position etc. My main question is, will vida dice be able to diagnose which sensor or motor is bad? I do most of the work myself bu...
