Ok, it looks like the cable you are referring to is the lower of the 2 cables. The upper cable appears to be the accelerator cable. Yes, both cables seem to be working very freely. I wasnt able to check on the transmission on the other end of the cable to see what was moving/supposed to be moving.

I'll check, does that need to be operating freely even if I'm accelerating at a slow rate? I understand that when I'm trying to pass some one and I accelerate rapidly how that might be necessary, but does it need to be working even if I'm accelerating slowly up to 60mph?

I am going to look into that if I cant easily solve the current issue.

I have a similar problem. When I try and use my bright lights it blows a fuse (cant remember what #). Which kills my headlights and tail lights completely, which isn't something you want to happen while driving down the highway. Solution I've came up with so far is to never use my brights.
