2009,C30, 2.4i Headlight washers

Hi, I have recently lost the R.H. headlight washer cover. What is the procedure for fitting a new cover, (hopefully without pulling the front bumper off)? Does the cover clip onto the washer nozzle? If so, is it prudent to replace that item at the same time? You suggestions will be gratefully receiv...

2009 C30 2.4Si cam belt

Hi ya, My last post was to do with a faulty vacuum switch that was giving me problems. I ordered a new one from U.K. fitted it and all is well. Thanks to everyone for their advice. My 2009 2.4Si C30 has now done 50,000 miles. My query is: Should the cam belt (and water pump, tensioner) be replaced a...

Re: C30 vacuum pump sensor

All fixed!! i ordered the part from a dealer in U.K. It arrived at my door, by post, a week later, at half the price the local agent wanted.

C30 Transmission shifter

I have recently experienced a problem with the Auto Transmission shifter being locked in one position. Initially, I was going down a long steep grade so went sideways to "Manual" to shift down for engine braking, however, nothing happened, it stayed in "Drive" No problem, good br...

Brake booster

I have been having a problem with the Vacuum switch that controls the vacuum pump. Eventually I bought a new hose from U.K and now have to fit it. As the booster is on the opposite side of the car with a right hand drive car the hose assembly and vacuum sensor are different, however, the fitting int...

Re: C30 vacuum pump sensor

I've ordered a hose/vacuum switch from UK. At present the car is running fine with the vacuum sensor disconnected but there is still a 0.5 amp current draw when shut down. Jimmy57 suggested that R14 could be energised when the car is shut down. He's correct. Any ideas as to why? According to the ins...

Re: C30 vacuum pump sensor

I've tried Jimmy57's suggestion. The pump runs for 2 munites after the key is out, holding the brake pedal down makes no difference. i've tried Ebay for a sensor, found one that could do the job but the connector could be a problem if it's not the same as there is little room to relpace it (and the ...

Re: C30 vacuum pump sensor

I tried Jimmy57's suggestion. The pump continues to run. The cure, at the moment, is to run with the vacuum sensor unplugged which solves the pump running when the car is shut down and doesn't seem to affect the braking to any great extent. I tried to buy a second hand vacuum switch on Ebay but, aft...

Re: C30 vacuum pump sensor

I have done as Jimmy57 suggested, the pump runs after the engine stops, about 2 minutes. I think it could be the vacuum sensor switch, in line to the pump, as cleaning the plug/socket contacts stopped current going to the pump when the car was shut down but, as I have no schematic, don't know if any...

Re: C30 vacuum pump sensor

Once again, Jimmy57 is correct. Unfortunately, the items on sale in the USA won't fit a RHD vehicle as the vacuum booster for the brakes is on the right hand side of the vehicle and the hose is the wrong shape. The situation has changed. I unplugged the vacuum switch that turns on the electric vac p...
