In states Pentosin CHF 11S or its replacement
CHS 202, both green. 11S in green can 202 in
white can. Advance auto has them both, pricey,
yes. I believe they can be mixed, I think it took
a little over 2qts. for a full flush.

2006 V70 Hood Release. In recent months my hood release handle has been getting more difficult to pull, almost like either the plastic handle or cable will snap. Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Swapped out 235/45r17 for 205/55r16 on my '06 V70. The Thors looked great on the car, but what a noticeable difference in the ride with the 16's. I didn't think it would be that much improved. I'll save the Thors for next owner someday, I have the original window sticker with them as a $595.00
option.

Put off doing inner and outer tie rods today, it's windier than hell in the lower Hudson Valley and can't run my compressor because we have not had power since 1:00 a.m.

I turned the strut top nuts with wheels off the ground. Endlinks were recently replaced. Sounds like just spring seats might be the most economical way to go now. How about the inner hardware (bellows, bump stops). When you say 3/9 wear are you talking tie rod ends. Orangex, thank you for you advice...

Totally agree with Abcate on that last post. Craigslist filled XC70/90's. I think a lot of non DIY Volvo owners hit the 100k wall and have the dealerships giving quotes of 3-5k to bring the vehicle up to snuff. Re: PCV R&R - Losing the battle to the dreaded hidden Intake bolt Topic is solved

Abscate is right. Thermo housing has to come out. I've tried every tool in my arsenal and no go. A3inverter idea of a welded ext/ soc could work, or possibly rachetting crowsfoot. I've eventually have to do a TB, so wait and see and do it all. Thank you everybody for your input.

Rear Brakes Topic is solved

I'm in the process of doing rear disc pad replacement. One side had the retaining spring underneath the tangs on the floating part of the caliper. The other side had the spring flat on the face of the caliper and not behind the tangs. Looks like it go either way to me but which way is correct ? Thanks

I'm new to P2's so I really don't know. I played around with with various 1/4 extensions and was able to get on the bolt head, but not confidentially enough to give it a crank. I was thinking that if that tang on the thermostat housing isn't a gasket mating surface and just from the casting, a littl...

Yup, what they call 17" "Thor" wheels were a $550.00 option. Base price $29,805, total retail price was $36,470, most of the difference was the ECC, which I know nothing about. Time to switch forums (from 850), start reading, and get dirty.

Is there any way in telling if the axles that I just pulled out of '94 850 are OEM (i.e., stampings)? They do have the large axle nut 36 mm, where the replacement axle nut was much smaller. Car has 179k and so far everything that I've replaced was original to car or OEM.

Flame trap 94 850 NA Topic is solved

8 mos. ago. before knowing about MVS I replaced my PCV system on my 94 850 NA so I didn't do the 5/8 hose mod. The glove test was quite improved, but it still inflates but doesn't stand up and give me the high five like it did. I do have minimal smoke out the dipstick and noticed some oil under the ...

Timing Belt mileage/time change?

I bought my '94 850 with 171k miles on it according to the OBDI in 6/18. With the speedo broken at 125k, PO must have gotten the mileage that way also. The sticker on fender says '09 and at 140k TB change. Should I be considering a changeout because of time. Any recommendations on a complete kit w/W...

Re: Recommended brand of Sway bar links 1996 850

I've used Mevotech Supreme on my 850, decent price and greaseable, figure that I would try them because I used all Mevotech parts on my Toyota 4WD front end, 45k on them so far no problems. Try to get something that greaseable. Good luck

Beautiful car! Your car is worth what ever somebody is willing to pay for it. With the work that needs to be done to it if someone offers you 4K with 310k miles on it, I'd jump at it. But, that being said you might want to invest and keep it yourself. I have a plain old '94 850 NA that I have a tota...

Re: P80 bypass ps pump, which belt, which routing

I believe eliminating the p.s. pump would take the tensioner totally out of play. If you find the belt, the slack you'll need to get it on would probably cause slipping at the very least and or not have enough tension to drive anything.
But just my guess. Good Luck

Re: Gearbox lower torque rod

I know after putting the polys on the upper engine torque rod, I regretted it and swapped back to the oem. Did notice a slight difference in shifting and engine response. It may not be as noticeable on the lower eng/ trans torque rod though. All depends on how you like your ride.

Did my motor mounts on '94 850. Couple of the comments I'm sure have been said before. Radiator cooling fan asemmbly has to come out and I've seen some tutorials not mentioning removal of the upper engine torque rod, this is not mandatory, but would be helpful in keeping the engine level while raisi...

Engine mount strap

Just got done doing front and rear hydraulic engine mounts today (I think). What a RPITA. Here's my problem. Buttoned everything back up and underneath the car I found the cable and swage for the front one on the ground. One end of cable came out of the swage. I assume this cable stops the mount fro...

I'm doing the hydraulic engine mounts in my '94 850 NA tomorrow. Is this job as nightmarish as I've heard. I have to use the car the next day. Should I wait for full weekend. The vacuum line side of the FPR should have no fuel in it at all. Is that the line fuel came out of? If you haven't checked that line, pull the line and see.

Re: Raw gas smell near fuel pressure regulator, 850t.

I had the same problem with my '94 850 N/A. Smell of fuel and bit of wandering idle. I disconnected the vacuum line to it and and fuel came out, meaning the diaphragm in the FPR was bad. Replaced, no smell, smooth idle. I was surprised to find out local auto parts had one in stock about 40 bucks. Go...

Question about '94 850 NA motor mounts Topic is solved

I recently changed the front motor mount along with upper engine bushing and eng/ trans torque mount. For all it's worth, I've noticed a smoother shift after 3 drain and fills with Dex Maxlife in my '94 850. I plan on doing 1 more (that will be 4 over 3000 highway miles). The stuff is relatively cheap also.

Yikes. I had no idea. I think I wait until spring and do it myself, just put 4 tires on it and local tire shop was afraid to attempt rear alignment, aligned front for free (gee thanks). It does drive straight as an arrow on NYS thruway though. Thanks for your input.

I guess it hasn't but wires were in pretty bad shape. I thought it pretty cool that you easily take the connector wire housing apart so you could slip a box end wrench on the sensor to tighten. I still have it will try to repair wires in free time.
