Re: Discount Tire saga - one slow leak Topic is solved

Abscate,Is that the Glenmont, west of Kingston on Rt. 28. Does he do alignments, I've just completed frontend.and am looking for good alignment shop, There are many Mavis/Sts shops by me, but I've had a bad experience with them. I'd buy tires there, but wouldn't let them work on any of my vehicles.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

I recently did my fourth D & F on my ' '06 V70. Think I'll do one every other oil change (10k). Is that overkill ?

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

I used 1/4" x 10" brass drift pin, using a carpenters hammer and alternating shots on each side. One small pocket on each side is about the only place there is to punch at. If you make some king of holding jig for a vise it would probably only take a couple of shots on each side, I didn't but it wou...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Iinstalled new ball joints in steering knuckles on my '06 V70. Used 2" by 4" galvanized pipe with cap, worked perfect. About half dozen shots with a 5 lb. hammer and they were home.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Started LCA, Ball joint, Inner & Outer tie rods today on my '06 V70. Went with all Lemforder parts except inner tie rods (TRW). Broke down one side, taking the struts out will make job a little more roomier. Rear LCA (hockey puck) bushing shot, as well as tie rod end. I think I read somebody used 2"...

Re: My Impact Wrench Is Not Strong Enough

I recently purchased a cordless 20V Porter Cable Impact gun. My primary use was going to be for rotating tires, the advertised max torque was way higher than it can actually deliver. I don't trust it to deliver the torque required for tightening wheels. How many FT/LBS. have you lost by the time you...
