Hi I own a 1994 volvo 850 and my drivers sdie heated seat doesnt work. i called the local volvo dealer and it costs 75 dollares just to LOOK at the problem!that is INSANE? doesn anyone know what wires I can check are plugged in a what not to avoid this fee, yet still have a tosty rear?

How to Thank someone for their post

You may try to look under the seat and follow the cables to the thermosthat connection. There are two connectors that plug into the thermostat. They have a tendency to break (the cable breaks loose from the connector). You can just get a similar connector, tear the plastic housing open and put the new one in (after connecting the cable of course). Then you have to wrap the housing with insulation tape and put the connectors back in the thermostat. Don't worry about the polarity. If you don't feel the heat after 3 minutes, just reverse the polarity. Both seats in my 850 had this problem. Now they work great. I couldn't have survived the PA winter without them

I'm not cetain about the 1994 but I contacted Volvo Cars of North America and they told me that there was a recall for the 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo for passenger heated seat failure that the dealer would repair free of charge
