About a month ago I reached to adjust my seat when my hand was burnt touching the side of my seat (the heated seat was turned on). There was a burn mark on the side of the seat. I live in New England and thought I could just use the heat on low for a few minutes to take the chill out, but it burnt a hole in the seat.
Not seeing any recalls for this issue I emailed Volvo Corporate explaining the issue and that I felt this was a manufacturing issue.
Much to my surprise they called me a couple of weeks later saying if I brought my car to a dealership they would review and repair for free if found to be a Volvo issue. They called on the day my car was being towed for an ignition issue. (a $546 fix)
The good news is Volvo has agreed to fix and replace the heated seat for free. I am guessing if I brought my car to the dealer first for the heated seat I would be paying for.

I am amazed they replaced that for free. That is awesome and if I ever have an issue like yours, I will use this post as an example.
Also, if you did go to the dealer first, you would have probably paid for it so good call contacting volvo first.
