Defeating the torque limit request on the Volvo 850 Turbo

Nothing new from here...

I'll probably give the 12v a try in the next week or two.

You said you have a R ecu in your car. Do u have the originall ecu around still? You could throw that in there for testing purposes and have less risk.

Yep, I do. That's why I'm willing to try the 12v trick.

And a VERY rare failure.
DId the car have a high speed wheelspin with a sudden gain in traction as in connecting with clear pavement after spinning it over ice?

Nice huh? I was wondering that too, but not at the time it broke. Over its 225K mile life I'm sure its had a couple. Wife was backing out of a parking spot (at volvo dealer!) as she stopped, heard a clonk, selected D, heard a BANG!
I'm about to put the replacement in, as soon as I get the damn RMS out, which wasn't leaking but thought i'd do the "right" thing. Grrrr.

For those really interested I can turn off the torque limitation in auto trans ECU's if you like... however once you drive an ECU with this turned off you might change your mind. I know I did.

The car becomes very jumpy to throttle input and wheel spin is a serious issues with this turned off.
Perhaps the OP would be interested in doing a before and after write up? I'd donate the tuning at no cost

It could be done outside of tuning but the time and effort involved would be more than it's worth IMO.

I did get an interested party on the offer so keep your eyes peeled for a write up in the next few weeks
