Hello all, i am back once more with another issue for my 96 850 turbo, several days ago the Check engine light came on. I drove to advance and they scanned it to determine it was P0117 or engine coolant temperature sensor. I figured i would replace it several days later, as i was driving home later that evening the car began to rev higher when i did not tell it too, within another 2 minutes, the car was idling at 2k RPM and if i dropped it into neutral it rev'd to 4k, i shut my car off and when i went to turn it back on low and behold it would not start. Is this a typical symptom of a failed coolant temp sensor? it starts after being left alone and initially runs, i have not gotten it to fail again as before but would like your input the part i will be ordering is

Is this part correct to fix my woahs?
High revs, car wont start after driving p0117 code

Sounds pretty typical of ECT. Make sure you get an OEM one as the aftermarket one are hit or miss. Probably should replace you thermostat as well .
