After heating each ring a little, gently tapped it close to the edge.
Now the problem is one ring slides out with slightest pull, other I can lift the housing by it.
What glue would work?
I have RTV from the water pump gasket/matting surface application.

Three or four small dabs of Loctite would do the trick. It works better on bear metal so you may want to scrape those areas on the axle down with a wire brush. Allow 24 hrs.

Passenger side axle is assembled.
I am using the oeitker plier on boot clamp. It takes a lot on aging fingers to clamp these down properly.

It has been more than 24 hours for the thread-locker to secure the reluctor ring, preparing to assemble the driver's side axle. Here is my progress.

1/2" painter's knife which is normally used for speckling is a handy tool for applying grease - clean method without getting grease all over the rubber glove and loosing grip.

Greasing is a three-step process. There is no need to put any grease inside the boot. The center piece cv cavity where axle shaft would slide in holds 80 gms. 1st - apply on all surfaces for assembly, 2nd - fill and a press with 3/4" deep socket will move the grease to ball housing, 3rd, fill it again the 2nd time with 80 gms then align the cv joint over the shaft and assemble it with gentle taps going over the c-clip.

Broke two oetiker clamp pliers while tightening the boot, frustrating. Performance Parts tools are made from non-metal materials (synthetic steel), a $9 item.

Somehow missed this thread. Fantastic DIY!
When clamping the Oetiker clamps, just snug it down finger-tight.
Once done, you should not be able to rotate the rubber boot around.

A follow up:
Passenger side inner CV boot now leaks grease at the clamp. The boot looks fine, but grease looks and feels too thinned. Does the tripod fully comes out - is there a procedure?
