Axel replacements. How difficult??

Post by Emmette »

My front right tire is wearing out fast and was told that I needed an alignment and replacement of the axels. I'm sure this has been posted before but I can't loacate info on the job and what special tools might be needed. Any advise would be appreciated.

Axles have nothing to do with your tire wear. If the axle boots aren't cracked and leaking or if they aren't making "poping" noises when you make a tight turn at low speeds, chances are they are fine. Your tire wear is most likely related to control arms (either ball joint wear or rubber bushing wear)and wheel alignment.
