Hello, so first !@$#%. After everything possible I could not crack the high pressure hose connection to the Drier/accumulator. The threads remain with stem from the drier (the drier is now been broken oof and removed ) and I can't get it off the drier nut to budge. Can I replace that hose?
If I take it to a shop can they drill it out?

The big nut on the receiver/filter/drier is a bear. After removing the spring lock joint on the rigid pipe I drop the receiver down as far as I can and go after it from below the bumper with a pipe wrench and a a long combination wrench. I can usually get it myself but my son (pretty much linebacker sized) has had to assist on a couple of them.

Welcome to MVS!
Any kind of major AC work you should replace the receiver dryer....so....fire up the favorite Dremel and cut that nut off...not worrying about damaging it. Price the receiver to condensor hose to see how much a new one costs vs the hassle of fighting that nut, too

Thanks Lee, I was wrenching on it so hard that the drier twisted off!! Does the high pressure hose go to compressor or condenser?
It doesn't look easily replaceable as the hose goes right to metal lines. I guess I am not familiar with the metal couplers on each end but they look pretty much factory assembled and sealed.
But I will try to get it to a shop and up on lift and see if more leverage will work. I assume I can't just cut the drier stem out of the hose without damaging the threads.

Those pressurized lines are factory only I believe and cost quite a bit, plus opening the system like that will let in quite a bit of condensation. Since your replacing the accumulator(which is a must when u open the system to air) which is the location of the silicates that help absorb condensation that gets into the a/c system you should change the orifice tubed. I don't know what your plans are concerning evacuation but I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to get rid of all the condensation then recharge w/quality refrigerant.Turbolena wrote:Thanks Lee, I was wrenching on it so hard that the drier twisted off!! If its wrecked send me a picture and I will see if I have a spare from my AC jobs. I have done one of my own and three for neighbors and save the old parts from jobs as part of my work release program.
update
I do have a good used 09171319 receiver to compressor line (big nut connection on R/D, flat oring connector to compressor from my 1999 T5 job. PM for details on my parts lottery program if interested

Ps...the rcvr/drier hose feeds the compressor low pressure side with refrigerant. It is a simple bolt on flat-flat junction held with an M6 hex head screw. That screw is a bear to reach on my 1999 with ETB but I think your model will be easier
