Climate system on the P2 sure is dreamy both in summer and winter. I understand the Evaps got a lot better too, here's hoping to at least 5 more years of life.

I like the use of thicker ones as they tend to separate outside smells well, like the car in front that is not burning fuel efficiently or has an oil dependency diet...

P2 don't have problems with the evaporators. Only issues with the a/c system is the clutch pulley bearing @100k miles - $15 diy, and the cabin temp sensor - $50 @2 min. job

I would consider replacing the bottom air filter cover, the one kept with 4 screws. It tends to leak water under the carpet.

Where do you guys get the thick filter?

I'm sure both IPD and FCP carry them.

The "thickness" of the filter has nothing to do with the airflow through a new cabin filter, it has to do with the filter's MERV rating...
Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. The "thin" filter is actually more efficient and will take longer to clog up than the thick one because of the number of folds the thin filter has. If you take apart and stretch out each filter you'd see that the thin one will be quite a bit longer than the thick filter which means it has more surface area for the air to pass through without restriction.
