Looks like a nice, solid install - You should post some power connection pics.

For those interested in the power connection: I took some of the male end AMP connectors out of the male end of my old rear windshield wiper motor. I stripped and soldered my CB power wire to the wire lead with the metal tip and inserted the male tip into the empty accessory connector housing, essentially making this a "plug and play" set up.

Non truckers still use CB? I remember toying with it when I was a kid, me and my buddies would talk to the truckers from our house. Good times! :D

It's funny...there is quite a bit of chatter on the CB and most of it is not truckers. For instance, there is always people chattering on Channel 6. I'm picking up all kinds of wierd stuff there. Just google "CB channel 6" and you'll see what I'm referring to. The language on that channel and the commentary about that channel is not altogether favorable, however I was actually speaking with a pretty down to earth guy on 6 last week that was explaining his base station antenna set up. But there was also a lot of name calling and just plain rude talk from other operators bleeding in as I drove.

Channel 19 is still full of truckers on the highway, and they will still give you traffic updates if you ask. That is something I always thought was pretty practical about CB. In my area, there are usually guys talking from base stations on channels 20, 22, 24, 27 & 28. Sometimes it's just nonsense and trash talk, but there are also some good exchanges of ideas on topics ranging from CB set up and installation, buying and selling on the internet, car talk and even two guys talking about the pros and cons of mail-order brides, lol

It's a fun hobby and adds another layer of communication should the zombie apocalypse occur anytime soon...
