V70 suspension sequence
I have a 1997 Volvo V70 turbo and intend to change the struts, control arms, outer tie rods and control links this weekend. Does anyone know the best and easiest sequence in which to do this work?

There is no vertical play in the wheels and the boots seem ok.
Is there any preferred sequence when doing these jobs?

You don't want the control arm and the strut to both be off at the same time, or the big steering knuckle will flop around too much. Here's the sequence I would use:
(0) Try to break free the cinch nut on tie rod. Soak with quality penetrant, use heat, get it broken loose in advance then re-tighten it.
(1) Old strut out, new strut in, but do not reconnect the sway bar end link when you are reinstalling.
(2) Remove old end link
(3) Remove and replace tie rod(s)
(4) Remove and replace control arm (drop at subframe first, then open at pinch bolt to remove completely)
(5) Install new end link
You can do all of this without removing the brake caliper, I know I would, but you may want to take it off and secure it to the coil spring to get it out of the way.
