S70 T5 - What's special beside the engine?

My n/a came from the factory with 16" Persus wheels.
"R" had 17".
T5 also 16".

They came with whatever wheels were ordered. There was quite a choice. It's the minimum size that will fit that differs. A na should fit 15" regardless of what it was sold with.

In the US, N/A and LPT cars came with wheels with an even number of spokes, HPT cars came with odd. That's my (odd) observation.

It wasn't a special order...being a last model year in '97 it was fully equipped...chipped keys,rear nivomats,ecc,heated seats,headlight wipers,factory front fog lights(like T5 and platinum have),850 aluminum door steps,leather interior,leather steering wheel...and list goes on.

Btw....15" on these cars looks awfull and for 2.0 10v would be suitable....not for a car with 170hp.

my 04 c70 t5 shifts fast and keep boost up, I dare say a 5 speed would keep up.
Love the boost and gas MPG is great.
Just got an s70 non turbo 5 speed, fun but good for highways but not NYC traffic

I can't see my wheels when I drive - all I see is June's S80 rear end and bmdubs receding front end.

And god help you if the P2 R goes wrong. You have to be insane to buy one with all the issues they invent as they get older. A P80 'R' is simple by comparison. Not sure I could be tempted to by another P2 and if I did it would have to have regular suspension and not the 4-C of the 'R' and XC.

I'm not saying you should I'm saying they should fit. Engine decides brake disc size and the non turbos run stock brakes that fit 15" for P80s and P2s. Then the cars could be ordered with a number of rims from the catalog from that size and up. Brakes would stay the same regardless.

I do get that you don't get to custom order cars yourselves over there but the dealer or agent would have done those choices.

Personally I stick with the smallest rims and highest profile tyres that will fit for comfort on worn roads.

I'm in pursuit for 17" Pegasus "R" wheels for summer tyres...i'm tired of factory 16"...but i will keep them for winter set of tyres.
15".....is small for the car and for my taste.

Custom ordered new cars are a foreign (<groan>) concept in the US, generally speaking. As a rule, we buy cars "off the lot". As you know.

Over here, because of this, cars with unusual options are sought after. Like T5M P80s for instance.
