1996 850 wagon:
The light that illuminates the letters next to the shift lever has gone out. I cannot see where or how to open the center console to replace it. The manual does not seem to address it (at least not anywhere I looked).
How do I open the center console? I also have one of the switches for the mirror adjustments that probably needs to be swapped out.

You got to unbolt the center console and lift it up or remove it. Here are some instructions.
