Oil Leak from Turbo Inlet
I am having a decent amount of oil leaking out of my turbo inlet connection, the one where it goes to the air filter. I have not noticed any oil consumption. in 4000KM, I have not noticed any drop in oil level, but I did do an oil change 2000KM ago. I am sure its coming from the PCV system, I replaced the entire PCV system when I got the car 4000KM ago, getting no crankcase pressure now. I tried tightening the clamp on the intake hose, replaced the oil drain gaskets/o-ring, is it just a bad seal on the pipe causing all of the oil to drip out? Its making a mess of my angle drive.

That could be from the oil banjo connection, hard to tell. If you do go looking, bring some new crush washers while you are playing up there
The snorkel tube isn’t too bad to pull from up top, you can check it for excess oil

I don't have a banjo connection, mine is a early 98 (07-97 build), distributor ignition, no VVT. I may have to pull it out, I wonder if there is a way to seal the connection? Its a plastic tube hose clamped to the turbo, which wont seal the best.

You have a banjo oil pressure line on top and a oil drain line on bottom, and two coolant banjos on that turbo housing. They are tough to get to.

I had a quick look, and everything looks dry from above. I thought you were talking about the PCV banjo that I keep hearing about on the later models. I think I'll have to pop off the intake hose and have a look, I also want to add a temporary boost gauge and make sure this thing is making boost, no check engine light in 3000KM, since I replaced the evap purge valve though.
Just put a temp pressure gauge and I'm boosting around 3psi driving normally, 6 psi over half throttle.

That looks all OEM in there. That PTCnipple needs cleaning every couple years.
Looks like you can get to the snorkel clamp easily,, pull the snorkel, mop up residual oil, and move on in two hours
Make sure you sas pump has a drain hole, too

I doubted my PTC clean when I changed the PCV system a few months ago, I had a spare I pulled from the junkyard laying around too. There was not much oil at all in the intake, the turbo actually looked clean and not oily, PTC was clean. But I can see where the hose clamp had pinched the hose to the turbo at the bottom when it was mounted with the screw at the bottom, giving a path for the oil to leak out. I tried sealing it off with di-electric grease around the hose , will see how it works.

The snorkel only goes on to the turbo in one position on my 1999, there is a lug on the snorkel that has to match the turbo casting to seat correctly
Both the coolant and the oil help take heat for the turbo, youcould say they compete for the heat, or they are dualing banjos.
