Hmmmm, you might have some wiring issue from the sensor to the ECC head unit or a bad connection. Pull your radio out (no need to disconnect any wiring or unhooking your battery cable) and push the sensor out, then pull the connector off of the back of the temp. sensor and then use some good contact cleaner to clean the contacts. Also, while you have it up close make sure the front of the sensor is lint and dust free. See if this restores the contacts and allows the other side to work as well. If not, then it's either bad wiring or the actual flap on that side that controls air flow is broken. Let us know what you find and if this solves your issues.

MIJ the part number 9145736 is not the cabin temp sensor but in fact the outside air temp sensor. Last year I ordered 9145736 from FCP to find it is the wrong part. The correct part number is 3524848, and when I contacted Nick (from FCP) about a swap he said that 3524848 is showing up as no longer available from Volvo!!

Cheers, Phil.

I just looked in VADIS and indeed the inside temp. sensor in the dash is 9145736, so I'm not sure what you were told or who told you but they're wrong. The outside temp. sensor part number is 1347010 for '98 and earlier.

yes i just looked again at my copy of VADIS and there are 2 temperature sensors part 36 = 9145736 and part 41 = 3524841. I have part number 9145736 in my hand now and I can tell you it is not the internal cabin temperature sensor!!!

What more can I say?

Cheers, Phil.

So, VADIS may be listing one sensor as tied in with the ECC (from the front of the car) and the other from the dash. I think you're right. The picture of 35248141 certainly looks like the one in the dash. I'll try to look around and see if I can find a source for this part for you.

Just did a quick search and you're right again, no source. A junk yard may be your best bet, or you might have to go to the dealer. I bet you anything they've changed the part number (like from 35248141 to 3524848).
