850 Tachymeter Instrument Cluster replacement

Hy buddies !

New question :

My car is from February the 28, 1995. On my tachymeter instrument cluster, I have only the regular watch. Which is already cool !

As a normal human, I'm never satisfied, I would like the install the "full package" (clock, watch, next airport for feed kerosene, which CD is playing on my SC 901, where's my wife and kids), and so and so.

Is it possible, I mean, is my car - pre-equiped ? Any idea.

good question. I'd guess it would work, maybe you don't have the exterior temperature function of the better cluster (if your car came w/o a temp sensor).
The turbo gauge won't work if you have a NA car, that's for sure.

There is a rumour that board computer needs to be activated at dealer for cars which are not equipped with it originally.

Can't recall on the 850 how the LCD is controlled. It may be via a switch below the cluster like the S/V70.

It is worth checking behind the blank switch covers. In the V/S 70's for example some were not fitted with the Tracs OFF button. But if you have a button you can pull the blank cover and fit the switch. Maybe your car is the same and is already pre-wired.

You mean the trip computer? The car *should* be pre-wired for it. I know on 2 of our cars that came without it, the plug for the panel switch was behind one of the blank spots on the dash.

There should also be a connection on the back of the instrument cluster (at least there is on the VDO ones) (The small one on the back of this picture)

I *think* the connector for it should be yellow or green. (Whatever the color of the back of the dash switch is)
