2000 V70 AWD 56 engine slow coolant leak

2000 V70 AWD automatic 56 engine.

Very very slow coolant leak. Any of you seasoned vets (Im still Volvo novice) pertaining to the likely culpret?

My first idea is to (rent a car to get to san diego, too risky) but for this car, get it up to full heat, lift it up, inspect under engine for signs of slow leak residue.

Thanks you all you previously helpful wise owls. I'm too old to figure a Volvo out though I have higher ability slowly slowly over time.

Usual culprits

Rear of engine (technically the right side of engine, but whatever...) two small coolant hoses that service the turbo on your AWD car. They are cheap but a bit sus scrofa to replace.

The overflow reservoirs usually crack after about 15 years

Dont go cheap or aftermarket on cooling parts, many a fool has been separated froma good Vovlo engine by the Siren Song of cheap aftermarket cooling parts.

I actually had a minute hairline crack in the radiator itself, where the plastic sides are crimped to the frame of the core.
Drove me nuts because it would just drip into the splash guard and probably run out went I went down the hill from my house. Never had a drip in the garage but the coolant level went down ever so slow.

I had similar problem as 850LPT. A very slow leak where the plastic radiator side tank was crimped to the aluminum radiator core on the lower passenger side. I got a new radiator to install but it actually blocked itself up after a while and stopped leaking, I call that a win!

yes thx for these point. I did engine trashing once already (total luck to fine exact 56 engine with 72K miles for $950) when this car was new to me and I was stressed way overboard and not focussed will, didn't know Volvos AT ALL. So, now Im being cautious not to do that again.

have new V. radiator, coolant reservoir.

One new volvo radiator arrived with the flimsy small nipple snapped off so they shipped a new one.

why did it load the pic four times?

that is the repair for future use as spare NEW radiator. I plan to embed the brass nipple in JB weld regular which adheres to plastic real good.

Is it leaving a puddle under the car, or is the coolant slowing leaving the reservoir with no external signs of leakage?

I was traumatized while a volvochild very young and never got over it had to replace engine

. Nothing on the ground, takes maybe 2 or more months to drop 1 inch.
