My favorite brake bleeding tool is the hand vacuum pump with adapters to fit the bleed valve. Pump brake fluid through the brake system and capture in the small vacuum cup. Repeat flushing until the fluid comes out clean. Be sure to keep the brake fluid tank filled as you suck it down.
The vacuum tool has other uses for leak testing and sampling other fluids.

you guys might like to try a fluid tester, similar to moisture meters used in boats to check for moisture in transoms.
I just ordered this one.
volvos aren't as susceptible to moisture as typical American cars , they use ni-cop line which doesn't rot out from the inside and resists external rust far better than steel lines. Brake fluid can still test good at over a decade old.
