1999 S70 GLT. I started the car this morning and it fired up, but then abruptly stopped. That has happened before and I just crank it again and go. but the battery was drained due to parking lights left on, so I charged the battery to 100%. But now I get a completely different sound during crank it almost sounds like no compression. The timing belt was done 30k ago and seems to be intact. The car turns over however it sounds completely different. heres what i have done so far.
No codes on on my scan tool
pulled the starter an had it tested, pass all tests 3 times.
battery is newer and had a full charge. My hand tester shows good voltage and solid cranking amps on the dial.
any ideas on where to go from here?

1) Cold weather
2) started but ran only a short time
3) sounds like no compression when it turns over

It probably over flooded with fuel on the cold start, which causes “ lawn mower syndrome”

Anyone know if this has the same "evil" anti-theft in the key as the '99 V70 XC? If so, scan it with VIDA and make sure it sees and authenticates the key. If it doesn't, it could do that as well.

Thank you for the input everyone. The car is up and running. it took some doing but i was successful. I removed the plugs, cleaned them and then let the cylinders air out over night. small dab of oil in each cylinder and the car turned over and started but immediately died and went back to not starting. Did it again and after some gentle coaxing (experience from my days with carbureted cars flooding), i got it started, kept it at about 1500-2000 rpm for a bit until I saw the temp guage start moving and then it was fine.
