Volvo Radio Code - 1998 Volvo V70R (SC-900)

Hi All,

This is a bit of a long shot but I am looking for a Radio code for my 1998 Volvo V70R.

The radio details are as follows:
Radio Model: 3533788-4969 (9812)
(3854800)
Radio S/N: AL E51A W 03 17790 (M 8 03 17790)
Man.Date - 1998

Things i've already tried:
Contacted local volvo suppliers - they provided code based on my cars vin: 2141, also tried permutations of this - no luck

Main suspicion: Not original radio head, or code has been changed manually - they suggested to bring it to Volvo Service and try to decode it there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

You will need Volvo to get that with the radio in hand, it’s very common for them to be swapped

In the States this works - but the first try here may get the same answer already given:

But I recall being able to give them the unit serial number and they came up with a good code.
And local dealership parts departments here are sometimes pretty cooperative, especially since these radios aren't much-sought after items
amongst thieves these days.

They can find the unit code from the serial number of the unit. What the dealers do initially is check the vehicle details from the Vin# and then give you the code from the information there. That assumes the unit fitted to your car is the original. I've had this several times. I've pulled units from the junkyard over the years and had my local dealer find the number from the numbers stamped into the side of the case.

I reached out to FRF Volvo Swansea, they were able to track the serial number of the radio and provide a working code!
