It might need a deep dive with vida to see what the sensor is reporting for ambiant temps.
If you experience strange A/C behavior that could be a symptom of that sensor gone bad.
I think you're mixing up the ambient air (pass. mirror) and the cabin ambient air (little grille beside the knobs on the CCM that everyone breaks when they try to clean)

They’re 25 bucks for a brand new Volvo one, about a half hour to change, you’ll have to take the mirror off the car.

My right side mirror rattles and clunks - I should fix that and put a new sensor in it.
