Raddiator hoses 2002 V70XC

I have 82,000 miles on my Volvo. How often should the radiator hoses be changed and how do you access the lower hose where it attaches to the radiator?

Thank you for your help.

Just feel them to see if they are soft...they should be pliable but not mushy. I would say you're probably good until your timing belt change (105K) anyway. To get at the lower one, you'll have to remove the air babble under there (up front, under the radiator), then you'll see where that lower hose attaches both to the radiator and back around to the engine.

...How often should the radiator hoses be changed...
I just replaced my low hose after 14 years and 165k miles. I thought I found a crack at the neck, turns out my old eyes mistaken a rubbing mark as a crack. (Discovered after replaced it). These OEM hoses should last a long time if you keep them clean.
