aut.transmission problem 850 GLT 1992

I`ll drive and see, but when it happens and I am quick and put it in N then it stops so must be from transmission ?

+1 to MIJ's comments above. I would add that on my '97, the shuddering and stalling was due to a dirty Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. It might be worth checking it... I wrote it up here:

I changed to a new one 2 years ago, but will take a Lock at it to morrow morning

air control valve is clean.

Must be coming from transmision.
The shutter lasts for around 5 sec and when I put i N stops

I'd be interested to know what your RPMs look like when it's doing this - steady, or hunting around? The transmission is not a fun place to have to poke around - that's my opinion at least, so make sure you eliminate all other possibilities first. Have you tried unplugging the MAF and drive with it? Will it still happen?

when it starts shutter then rpm drops rapidly and comes up to normal again when shutter stops.

The problem is that it`s not all the time. It happens 1-2 times a week

Even if your tranny's having trouble, the engine should compensate for the effects of it. I think the others are right - you should look at other possibilities as well. Your solenoid or converter could still be the issue, but as it stands now, the only way to be sure is to actually troubleshoot those to areas.

I just think if it stops when you put it in N then the problem should be in the gearbox.
Am I wrong in thinking that ?
