Sealed it with the heat from a soldering iron... Seemed too easy. Going to put in a few gallons and see how she goes.......

May put a bit of jb weld around it next if necessary

That is basically what it would appear to say on the recall, that the tank would crack around those mounts. I would use JB Weld plastic weld Epoxy. Clean and roughen the area around the repair and then build up some epoxy around it. They also make a weld putty material that may also work.

Literally the exact thing I did last weekend on the upper heat shield mount. Soldering gun + JB weld steelstic. I had to pull the tank out though.

The tank material is HDPE with a nylon mix made by DuPont.

It’s recycle code 7. But for repair, treat it like HDPE , RECYCLE CODE 2
