Thanks Robert!! Is there a video about the turbo install? I guess with access and vision at the rear of the head being what it is that would be a difficult video to shoot. Have fitted 4 whiteblock heads but were all for non turbo versions.

I'm borrowing the outside yard of a panel shop and there are 2 guys there at my disposal so I wanted to drop the lot in (including the intake) while supporting it with a valve spring removal slider bar. I can also use an engine crane to drop it all in. That will save me hours of time craning over the engine.

I dropped in a whole engine with the turbo and intake attached, so yes there should be room for the head that way if you have a lift or similar. If it is tight then I might leave the intake off, it is fairly easy to work on from the front.

The turbo only has 4 bolts holding it on the the exhaust manifold. Can't mess that up.

Does anybody know how to replace a rear seat belt?? I have a broken buckle on one of the outer seats that won't get through inspection.

Cleaning up the engine bay and getting it ready.

Swapped in a lower mileage alternator and PS pump yesterday (70 k miles)

Head is back from machinist $60 cash. The machinist confirmed that the exhaust seats had been professionally cut by somebody else. Bonus for me!!

Gasket & PCV set is now 1,000kms away !!

Fuse 7 for radio (SC900) kept blowing so I separately powered up the radio straight to the battery (after cutting power leads to the radio) and found that the amp is not working. The centre surround speaker can be switched on though. Looks like the amp may be the culprit.

Once I remove the seat and disconnect the amp to see if the fuse still blows I'll have a better idea of what I need.

Looking good. The bottom if the head looks super smooth. The last head I had made true was grainy.
