Okay, before ANYTHING else, check when the timing belt was last changed. Absolutely critical . Then your hoses, PCV, etc...descending order of throwing away your money then the car if they fail. Spend time browsing the wonders of MVS, ask lots of questions, subscribe to Robert DIY youtube or Patreon, it will save you time and money, familiarizing yourself with your car, kinda like Babel for P80s! (the language software, not the Old Testament one!!)

Speaking of junkyard, I'd pick up a cluster from a V70XC or etc that has the trip computer activated, just find any 98 with an info switch. Yes the mileage won't match, but so what ...

The 98 is do close the the coveted 100% Rating , only one model year does better..

After 98 it's 07, then a distant pack of other years in third place.

Ok cool! Thanks.

Gonna do some work tomorrow with my mechanic.

The TRACS system....do I care about the light? Doesn't bother me so I won't fix it.

The speedo sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

New trans speedo sensor? Or just take it out and clean it?

She is running ok! Always starts. Lol.

Tomorrow is
E Brake fix
cv boot pass outer
Balance rotate tires
Oil lube hood latches (driver side won't open unless you keep lever pulled and second person opens good)
Mann oil filter magnet on drain plug
Drain and replace one quart tx fluid. Magnet on drain plug

General look over. And start maint schedule.

I thought I could post pics just from uploading from my phone but that's not working anymore
Help?

speedo gets signal from ABS control, flaky speedo and TRACS light equals need an ABS module. See midwest ABS link.
search forum for hood bumper adjustments.

Hey hey!

Time to buy a pass side axle, the cv joint broke, don't ask, but the bearing race broke while trying to dissamble the cv joint to get the new boot on.

So, calling fcp to get an axle overnighted. Or, anyone have any thought?

Axle installed. Rear brakes and eBrake fixed and installed.
Have bad smoke in the cabin, can't see it, but smelling it makes me dizzy. And it really doesn't smell.

Gonna get some exhaust gaskets, and start from the head and work my way tailward....

Fixing this is a priority now. Exhaust system looks stock, and had her on the lift, and couldnt see anything apparent from the midsection of the vehicle back.

Crazy thing, lowering windows and closing outside vent air doesn't help.

Grrrrrrrrr. Any ideas?

So it is definitely exhaust? People have described mist from the vents when the heater core blows.

Oh and a very common place for these to leak exhaust is the joints for the cat, either the front or back joint. I think I have repaired all of mine now, Well, had them repaired - muffler shop.
