Found a seller with a used altitiude sensor for $16 plus postage. Also ordered an injector servicing set (seals and screens)
My prostate is getting smaller already.

Spent some more time yesterday and tore down the front shocks, spring seats & shock mounts which were dated 2003. Also bump stops were falling apart. Passenger side shock absorber had almost no rebound. Swapped in some fresher ones (Quinten Hazel gas assisted struts) from my 2000 V70 but retained the original springs.
Also replaced the sway bar links with Meyles.
Some ham fisted factory tech overtightened the strut bolts back in 2003 (records show dealership servicing) I used an extender and still struggled. When they finally gave in they stretched. I had some camber adjustment bolts lying around so in they went. Some drilling of the knuckle is necessary. I'm using them in the top position only.

Question: why is the turning circle so ridiculously large on this car? Is something wrong with the front end? Was it designed this way to protect the AWD transaxle?

Received the altitude sensor from the US which solved the code from that item. Finding the location for fitment wasn't difficult; there was a vacant pink connector just near the right headlight with a bracket with a semi circular cutout to take the sensor. The old altitude sensor had been removed.
Next up the lambda remained lit. My Torque on Android reader couldn't pick anything up so Vol-FCR came out this afternoon. The ECM had some sort of transmission code that wouldn't clear.
Then I probed the TCM and finally read a code about a solenoid 1 problem. Odd because the car seems to drive and shift well enough. Cleared that with Vol-FCR and finally saw the last of the lambda light & hopefully for a while too.

Plunged in again today and removed the heater core so I could be sure of what's in there. An original Volvo core with logo built in 1999 resided in the HVAC so it may have been replaced when it was under warranty at 2 years of age. It was leaking slightly so it looks like an Estonian heater core from volvonest (eBay seller) will be going in.
I also fitted the new Airtex Wells (OEM) ignition switch from Rockauto. Wow that's a big picture Matt. Thanks for the new auto zoom function

In my case if the switch was left alone straight after starting I'd have no power to heated seats and indicators. Once the switch is jiggled back slightly the power is restored.
